About us

Q: Who are you guys?

A: We are some Swedes who love Final Fantasy!

Q: How long have you been doing this?

A: We started in the summer of 2010, so we have done three Final Fantasy marathons this far (and the fourth will come in the summer of 2013).

Q: Why are you doing this?

A: We wanted to create something bigger than just playing the games out of our love for them, so we decided to share the experience with others who share our passion. We love the thrill of managing to become better and better at the games, and setting new goals for ourselves. Of course it also feels good to contribute to charity.

Q: How do I get in contact with you?

A: contact@tantalus4.se

Another way to get in contact with us is to join our Facebook group. During the Marathon, writing in our chat is of course a good alternative.

About Donations

Q: Who recieves the donations?

A: We take donations for www.childsplaycharity.com. When you donate on our site the money will be automaticly transferred to Child’s Play Charity’s PayPal-Account. They will make good use of the money by creating a better environment for young people at hospitals.

Q: How do I donate?

A: It’s easy: press the Donate-button and you will be redirected to PayPal. You do obviously need a PayPal-Account, if you don’t have one, you can easily get one at www.paypal.com

About the games

Q: What games do you play? And what versions?

A: Our passion goes to the Final Fantasy games. Hence, we do this. So, we play all the main series games, that is:

Final Fantasy I (Origins, PSX)

Final Fantasy II (Origins, PSX)

Final Fantasy III (NDS, emulated on computer)

Final Fantasy IV (SNES)

Final Fantasy V (Anthology, PSX)

Final Fantasy VI (SNES)

Final Fantasy VII (PSX)

Final Fantasy VIII (PSX)

Final Fantasy IX (PSX)

Final Fantasy X (PS2)

Final Fantasy XII (PS2)

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)

Now, you might think “Why don’t they play Final Fantasy XI and XIV?”. Well, they are online games, and as such, nothing that you can reach a final goal in. The same goes for the sequels Final Fantasy X-2, XIII-2 etc. Even though they aren’t online games we do not feel they belong with the original games. Worth noting is that we play the PAL-versions of the games.

Q: What rules have you set up for yourselves?

A: A game is started when we press “New game” and finished when the final boss of the game is dead and the fight scene is over.

No guides allowed when we play at the Marathon, but we do have our own notes about our runs at hand.

The games will be played as new games, without taking advantages of having a previous save file on the memory card (Final Fantasy X benefits from having a save file with all the Al Bhed Primers)

We do not use external cheating devices, but any and all bugs and/or glitches in a game is allowed to be used.
